Nestled within the quiet slope of the Vez River, this project reimagines wellness architecture as a contemplative refuge rather than a spectacle. Inspired by the humble clarity of a birdwatching cabin, Cabana no Rio is a lightweight, prefabricated timber structure designed to complement the historic stone watermill it neighbours.

A place of quiet immersion and curated rest, the spa is not a destination, but a pause. It does not attempt to outshine the landscape or history; instead, it observes, listens, and frames them.

Crafted from local chestnut, cork, granite, and reed, and elevated lightly on footings, the building opens softly to the river and forest. Every material, gesture, and path celebrates the rhythm of water, time, and stillness.
